World Skills (original title International Vocational Training Organization (IVTO) formed in 1940) to develop opportunities for young people around the globe with international competitions since 1950 (Madrid, Spain). World Skills Competitions is the gold standard of skills excellence and competences. International competition inspire young specialists to reach new heights, helping them turn their passion into a profession. Among the various skills competitions, the Trade 11th. - Printing Technology since 2005 joined the family of World Skills trades. From the competition in Calgary 2009 in Canada - Sinapse Print Simulators starts the sponsorship of World Skills Printing Technology together with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.

The young talents competition of Trade 11. - Printing Technology involves print media technology professionals, responsible for all aspects of the production of printed materials during the competition. The Printing Technology competitor have to solve several tasks and show their skills and competence like: understanding the printing process on multi-colour printing press, solving the complicate printing tasks on virtual environment of printing process simulation, understanding the interconnection between the printing and post press tasks etc.

The next competition in Europe will take place in Lyon on 10-15 September 2024, welcoming competitors from over 60 countries. World Skills has a strong commitment to youth and their future. Always before the global competition taking place, the national World Skills organise the competitions to select best-of-the-best among the local young talents. This is the place, where national printing industry association can take the commitment to support and promote the printing profession among young people.
